Board Positions

Members of Nigigoonsiminikaaning First Nation sit on a number of boards within the area. Included here are a list of board positions corresponding with the current representatives sitting on each board.

Capital Planning

Capital Budgets are responsible for minor and major capital on projects for the community of Nigigoonsiminikaaning First Nation.  In the past the community has been involved in the construction of the community building, daycare centre, outdoor rink, 5-Plex Unit, Water Treatment Plant, new housing, Roundhouse, and Pow Wow Grounds.

The new Health/Business Development Centre has been approved for funding and all financing is in place. The building should be started in mid July 2015 and be completed by mid July 2016.

Operations & Maintenance

Operations and Maintenance is responsible for the infrastructure of the community including the Nigigoonsiminikaaning Daycare Centre, Community Building, Water Treatment Plant, Roads, Snow Removal, Garage, and Fire Hall.  They also maintain band-owned vehicles, and construction equipment for the community.

Ontario Works is also available in the community.  Please call Ontario Works Coordinator Charlie Windego 481 2559 for availability.

Monday: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm

Tuesday: 10:00 am to 3;00 pm

Wednesday: 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Thursday: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm

Friday: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
